Last week I went to Rennes (1 hour from home) to go and listen to Jean-Louis Gassée speak about Wifi. (actually i did not care about Wifi, just about JLG! - My Airport base station works great, thank's- ). The unfunny thing is that we were told 5 minutes before the beginning that JLG was not here ! There were maybe a videoconference late in the afternoon, and even that was unsure. I left because it was not very interesting to listen to endless speeches about Wifi. When will I be able to meet JLG ?! (Jean-Louis, un petit blog ? ;-) )
I bought the in-ear stereo headphones for the ipod. I don't know if they forgot to include basses in mine but the sound is really not pleasant at all. The bass response is very low. Maybe i'm doing something wrong but the original headphone (that i had not tried until today) is much better. By the way, I also bought a 40Gb iPod with the iTrip. The funny thing is that i have now to buy a radio-cd for the car to actually use the itrip ! ahhhh geeks..... ;-)
Update : In a comment here it's explained how to actually put them in the ear :
To get the best bass response the earphones should be well sealed in the ear canals. The best seal is obtained by slightly wetting the tip. With the opposite hand reaching over the head, pull the ear up and back (to straighten the ear canal). With the other hand, insert the eartip as deeply as comfortable. The ear canal points more towards the face than straight into the head.
It sounds much better like this ! Cool. Maybe I just should have RTFM!
